These are 2 artist I have recently come across, neither particularly working in the digital realm…but their use of colour, it’s loud and vivid and amazing. I have dropped the ‘o’ whilst spelling the word colour as they are both based in America!
First up is Lisa Lou, this piece ‘Color Field’ reminds me of a pixelated rug, it is made out of many individual wires. She explains how she narrows her options, she chooses a material, sets rules before finally arriving at…’here is the work that it takes to make the work’.
He creates light three-dimensional structures such as wall hangings comprising thousands of miniature ‘kites’, and bamboo-stiffened rice paper hexagons suspended with nylon fishing line.
