Aorta

In Jungian psychology the ‘shadow’ or ‘shadow aspect’ refers to an unconscious aspect of the personality which the conscious ego does not recognise in itself.

The unfurled layers, textures and meshes of these 3D objects is a shadow self of its solid state. The inverse of it’s essence.

One of many 3D scans. I like the messiness of this object. The textures created when the object was unfurled again interest me.

And again when superimposed on other realistic imagery it gives way to negative space and inverse shapes.

Note to Self:

  • Explore these meshes in 3D form.

Bovine

Whilst scanning 3D objects I have become intrigued by the textures that make up the object.

bovine-1

This simple plastic toy cow, its essence unfurled and superimposed over real world organic imagery, its texture takes on an otherworldly surreal quality.

Note to Self:

  • Unfurled these 3D skins become the inverse essence of the 3D object itself, flattened and rolled out for all to see.
